Dell warns businesses of Windows Vista woes
Many people would think it would be advantageous for Dell to simply promote Vista as much as it can but it is taking a step back and telling businesses to consider “holding off†on upgrading to Vista immediately.
The move is unusual because Dell makes money from both selling Microsoft’s products and from selling the additional and more expensive hardware that is required to run Vista.
One of the things Vista requires is a 2GB image per user which for a business could mean a lot of lost storage space. Windows XP was fine with a 1GB image and Vista requires twice that. Larger hard drives, all around, please.
