Vista Not Driving PC Market, Gartner Says
's Windows Vista is not expected to be a strong driver, the analyst firm said this week.
Worldwide mobile PC shipments are forecast to total 103.2 million units in 2007, a 27.1 percent increase from 2006. Meanwhile, desk-based PC shipments are on pace to total 153.9 million units in 2007, up 2.4 percent from last year.
However, Gartner said that Vista has not proven to be the killer application that Microsoft intimated it would.
